Lester back in rotation

Monday, Jon Lester returned to the Boston Red Sox rotation, from the 15 day DL with a left lat strain.  Lester pitched great, working 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run on seven hits with two walks and six strikeouts.  Lester ended up with a no-decision, as SS Marco Scutaro missed a squeeze sign, with Josh Reddick on 3ed base, Reddick was caught trying to come home because missed the sign to bunt.

Buchholz feeling better

Sox starter Clay Buchholz threw 30 pitches in a side session Monday, befor the first of a 3 game set against the Kansas City Royals.  Buchholz said that he thought it felt better, but there There was still a little soreness.  The reports saying that he wouldn't be able to throw until September worried me, but it is what is, and Andrew Miller has been pitching well, with and 4 and 1 record.

Sox place Lester on DL

Wednesday the Red Sox placed lefty Jon Lester on the disabled list, because of a strained lower lat muscle on his left side.  I think it was a smart move by the Red Sox you would not want to risk further injury, the Sox will need Lester in this next month.  redsox.com said: "The club is hopeful Lester can return to the rotation on his first day of eligibility, which would be July 22 at Fenway against the Mariners."  The Red Sox recalled right-hander Scott Atchison from Triple-A Pawtucket To replace Lester.

Sox trade Cameron to Marlins

Tuesday the Boston Red Sox traded swing man center fielder Mike Cameron to the struggling Florida Marlins.  The last place Marlins I think could really use a pick up a pick up like Cameron, even if he did bat just .149 in his last 33 games.  They could use him I think because after loosing Jeremy Hermida the Marlins have been in a bad situation with outfielders.  Cameron would also contribute defensively with 3 gold gloves.  For the Red Sox I think it was time for him to go.  with his stats there would be no use for him, not even to pinch hit.  The Marlins will be Cameron's eighth team.

Sox beat Phills 5-2

Wednesday the Boston Red Sox wrapped up what was considered the world series preview.  The Red Sox offense finally got something going:  Jason Varitek had 2 homers, Josh Reddick went 2 for 4 witha triple and a single, Drew Sutton went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, Elesbury went 3 for 4, with 3 singles.  Most of the Red Sox runs came from the bottom of the Red Sox order.  I think Adrian Gonzolez needs to get back going with his bat the way he was.
